Words by Who?

Words by Jen came to light over coffee at the Copper Kitchen on Chapel Street in New Haven. The year was 1993, and Jen Payne’s goal was to offer comprehensive creative services to folks who needed help promoting themselves. Her first clients included a rock band, a fashion designer, a massage therapist, and a local environmental group.

Her clients will tell you that her greatest strength is her ability to synthesize their goals and ideas into effective results. Whether writing talking points for a high-profile politician, designing an award-winning book for a local author, or helping an entrepreneur market her new business, Jen thoughtfully partners with her clients in their efforts to do good work and to be successful.

Jen is enthusiastic about her clients’ projects, supportive of their efforts, and always on-hand to consult, advise, and collaborate.

She’s enthusiastic about her community, too. You can see this in her long-standing commitment to local organizations like Branford Community Gardens, the Branford Land Trust, and the Branford Compassion Club. In the past, she has served on the boards of the Branford Chamber of Commerce and the Branford Land Trust, and has volunteered her time and services for numerous groups and events throughout her 30 years in business. She feels blessed to have been supported by her community since she started Words by Jen, and has always believed that the best response is to give back as much and as often as she can.
